ETERNAL SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS

Spring is such a life confirming season. It's a breath of fresh air to know that everything will sprout again and take on their usual cycle. Easter is also my favorite holiday decorating season.

Probably because of all the cute pastel colors you see everywhere, they kind of make you happy, right. Just like walking into a kid's room, it's eternal sunshine and rainbows. Well is doesn't hurt either that all the shops are stacked with soft bunnies and fluffy chicken toys. I just wanna hug 'em all:)

Anyways, when it comes to decorating I kind of tend to not go for the typical easter yellow. This little put-together is very natural in color and very easy to make. You use terracotta pots, moss, any flower of your choosing and some eggs. Very simple and pretty elegant as well.

Happy Friday!

WELCOME TO OUR NEW SITE

Welcome to our new site. We are so excited about this and we really hope you like it. If you came here through our Blogger site and you have been subscribed to our previous feeds, we would like you to update your RSS subscription to this new site. You'll find the RSS button in the top right corner. If you're having any trouble, please let us know.

As you might have read on our Blogger site, things have been hectic around here the last month...and you know the secret I was talking about; well, a month ago my partner and I(Annika) decided to get married. And we gave ourselves precisely 5 weeks to get it done:) I guess you can say we are kind of impulsive...or that we are just very much in love...or both:)

This is a very smallish wedding and only the closest family is going to be there. There is going to be lots of food, one of my priorities. None the less is it going to be beautiful and those of you who know us, creative and project wise, you also know that we wouldn't be able to do this, without a lot of decorating and crazy DIY's. I promise we will share those with you later.

Today I'm gonna let you in on the theme and colors for the big day. I have a great love for anything natural and rustic, but for this day it has to be elegant and simple too. I also liked the idea of using things that had some kind of story or meaning.

It has been fun looking for inspiration, Pinterest has been a great tool, but it sometimes overwhelms you. I was doing the menu planning and if it had been only up to me, the menu would probably have consisted of enough food to feed us for a week and a minimum of 12 different desserts, cookies and cakes to go with that. Apparently my 'Hubby to be' believed he had a say in this and for some reason, I still don't know why, we decided that I could make only 4 different desserts. I think his argument was that we had to be able to eat it all(what is that about?:)). I still dream of the other 8 desserts....they are all so colorful in my head:)

So beware of Pinterest....it's likely to give you oodles of ideas:)

Visit our Pinterest boards here. You can also visit our inspiration section in the menu, where you'll find a bunch of our favorite websites.

Again, welcome and we really hope you'll like it here.
Have a great Saturday!

FROSTY COLOR PALETTE

We have had some intensely beautiful frosty mornings this week here on Fyn, Denmark. Up until now the winter has been pretty mild, but the last couple of days it has become more chilly and frosty. The mornings are especially gorgeous and the light creates a fairy-tale like landscape. When nature brings you sights like this, it almost hurts the heart and it can be hard to contain it all, but it's a really good source of inspiration.

I always just feel like hugging everything, when nature overwhelms me like this....wanting to keep it all close to me. The hugging would be a bit problematic and also look quite stupid :), so I take pictures instead. I's my way of containing it and keeping it close.

Have a beautiful day!

monday christmas colors

The fun thing about decorating for Christmas is that there are no rules. You can pick a new favorite color palette every year and try out new decorations. There are a lot of places where you can find your color inspiration. Foods are to me a great place to look and the season also invites new flavors into your home. I have a love for chocolate all year round, but when autumn and winter comes I find that it's especially irresistible. Cinnamon is a spice that I don't particularly like, but during Christmas season, its scent creates a very homey feel to me. All these smells are like color palettes to me.

This year I'm going with a mix of earthy chocolate and cool scandinavian blue/gray colors with a sprinkle of red. What are your Christmas colors this year? /Annika

leaves of green

I have always thought that the beauty of a material is in its structure rather than the color. Any color is pretty much attainable in any material, but what gives it origin and history is the structure. The structure will tell you about the process it has gone through to attain its appearance.

Combining different material can have a gorgeous effect when decorating your home. One color that is easily accepted in most materials is green, probably because green gives us a feeling of growth and life. It is also a color that never seems to go out of style, maybe just because we are always surrounded by it through nature and therefore see it as a very natural element in our lives. /Annika

In our store you'll find the green retro collection. The coffee and tea tin can be bought as a set or separately. This makes perfect for a Christmas present or as a hostess gift.

earthy tones

You know that feeling when you're complety relaxed, everything is in its right place and a calmness spreads through you? That's the way I feel about earthy tones. Its the base for everything else and it will match any other color you combine it with.
It is strange the effect colors has on your mood and surroundings. It does provoke spontaneous feelings or urges, like me sitting here writing this post, not being able to shake the thought of a hot cup of cocoa.... I'm gonna go make one. /Annika
