CHICKENS & SNOWDROPS = EASTER

Today I have collected a few things, I think have all the Easter vibe you need. Eggs are a must for Easter and of course nests. With these things as base ingredients, you have endless decorating possibilities.

As for flowers I really like anything that symbolizes spring, but especially snowdrops. They are so delicate and elegant. Last but not least, I need fluffy little chickens to really feel the Easter mood.

What are your favorite Easter decorating items?

Have a wonderful day!

CROCHETED EASTER EGGS

Easter is almost here and you probably have all your decorating figured out by now, but if you feel like squeezing in another Easter project, this is a cute one.

This is not an "out of the box" pattern. It depends on your choice of yarn and the size of the egg.

You'll need these materials:

Easter egg (any kind of material and size)
Yarn
Crochet-hook (that goes with the yarn of your choice)

Instructions:

Start with a magic ring.

R1:  ch 2, dc into loop 5 times, join with sl st into second ch, pull loop closed – 6 sts
R2: ch 2, dc in same st, dc 2 in every chain, with sl st into second ch – 12sts
R3: increase in every 3rd ch
R3: increase in every 4th ch

Continue increasing until you reach the thickest part of the egg.
Now you start decreasing, and when you reach ¾ of the egg, you need to put the egg inside, before you finish the project.
You may need to measure the work during the process by putting the egg inside the crochet piece, to make sure it fits the egg. Otherwise you have to adjust by increasing or decreasing more or less.

Happy project and have a great Tuesday.

QUIRKY EASTER DECORATION

I love quirkiness. And this little Easter decoration definitely has the quirky factor. This is one of those fun things you can make for a party, where you need a really cool centerpiece.

The violas will be fine without water for a day or two and afterwards you can just move them to a pot or into the garden. We used a wheel from an old baby pram, which has this lovely rustic look. You can really decorate with whatever you like.

I think even feathers would look beautiful here. It's a very artsy piece, as it will take on a look of its own, but it's simple and inexpensive. Only your imagination will set the limit for this one:)

Happy Easter project

COZY EASTER COLORS

Yesterday the twig was brown and bare;
To-day the glint of green is there;
Tomorrow will be leaflets spare;
I know no thing so wondrous fair,
No miracle so strangely rare.
I wonder what will next be there!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

ETERNAL SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS

Spring is such a life confirming season. It's a breath of fresh air to know that everything will sprout again and take on their usual cycle. Easter is also my favorite holiday decorating season.

Probably because of all the cute pastel colors you see everywhere, they kind of make you happy, right. Just like walking into a kid's room, it's eternal sunshine and rainbows. Well is doesn't hurt either that all the shops are stacked with soft bunnies and fluffy chicken toys. I just wanna hug 'em all:)

Anyways, when it comes to decorating I kind of tend to not go for the typical easter yellow. This little put-together is very natural in color and very easy to make. You use terracotta pots, moss, any flower of your choosing and some eggs. Very simple and pretty elegant as well.

Happy Friday!
