RENEWED LOVE

Tulips are beautiful flowers and I always get so happy when the first tulips are in store. Then after a while you see them everywhere and your start to feel a bit bored and want something else...a different flower, something new. But when I saw this combination of colors at my sisters work, my love for tulips just got renewed. This lime green color is so fresh and together with that delicate purple...well it feels like spring.

Have a wonderful Saturday! /Annika

NEW LOFT OFFICE/CREATIVE SPACE

This week we have been busy fixing our new office/creative space. My sister's house has this extension and we have decided to turn the loft of that extension, which used to be two guest rooms and a hall, into our new creative space/office. So this week has been all about knocking down walls and now we are painting everything. We are very exited about this project and we can hardly wait till it's time to decorate the space. We will post more pictures later.

I hope you all have a great Friday! /Annika

THE SMELL OF SPRING

I think we all have certain things or get these little moments, where we are reminded of our childhood and fond memories. To me willow catkins are one of these things. When I see those fluffy buds I'm immediately thrown back to my childhood, where I walked home from school feeling and touching every twig that was blooming with these little soft ducklings (that's what we call them in Denmark). To me they are such a strong signal of spring being just around the corner, that I can almost smell it. What things triggers your memory?

Have a wonderful day! /Annika

SPRING TREND 2011

This Sunday we went to FORMLAND (danish home accessory fair). It's quite a big fair with around 650 exhibitors and they had made some really great inspirational trend-zones this year. I don't think the trends are that different from last year and a lot of the products you see are the same, with maybe some minor color changes. Zinc(and metal) and wood are definitely popular materials and the whole industrial feel is very present. Color wise it's very natural with splashes of color; you see lots of gray, beige, purple and wood...actually very light wood, with an almost unfinished look. I kind of like it, though. There's also a lot of flora and fauna, both in prints, patterns and decoration. These pictures are from the trend-zones.

Have a great day! /Annika

CROCHETED VASES

I made these crocheted vases a couple of weeks ago. The big one is about 40 cm high and the other around 25 cm. I found the vases at a flea marked and I just really loved the shape. Thought they would be wonderful for a project like this.
This Tuesday's theme over at Fabriken is 'hand made by me'. It's a fun subject and it's going to be interesting to see what everyone is crafting. Have a creative day! /Sussi

SUNDAY INSPIRATION

Today we are going to FORMLAND (danish home accessory fair) and we are looking forward to being inspired and see what spring/summer are bringing. We have a lot of plans for this year and we are very exited about it. We can't let you in on anything yet, but we assure you that it's going to be very creative and hopefully it will make you feel inspired.

Have a great Sunday! /Sussi & Annika

TYING UP THOSE LOOSE ENDS

I think twine is a beautiful material. I love the different textures and colors it comes in and especially when it's all nicely presented in a basket or box. The only problem is that, it might not be practical to store it that way. Sometimes you need a more "easy access" solution. Terracotta pots often has a hole in the bottom and they can actually function as a pretty cool twine dispenser. You can secure the pots with wire and hang it on a nail or board. It will work best with a roll of twine, where the end is pulled from the inside.

Have a great day! /Annika

THE LIGHT OF DAY

Photography is all about light. I think many of us, who prefer to shoot in natural light, are fed up with the dark months and very much longing for lighter and longer days. But this afternoon, when the sun was setting, I was lucky enough to catch a very warm light, and for those couple of minutes, it almost felt like a summer's evening. I'm definitely awaiting spring and not having to use a tripod all the time :) 'Cause nothing beats the actual feeling of the camera in your hands. How have you been coping with your photography this winter? /Annika

GORGEOUS PACKAGING

I love beautiful packaging and especially the kind I can keep and reuse as decoration or storage. Sometimes when I go shopping I catch myself wanting to buy products just for the packaging, not really needing the product at all. I like to follow thedieline.com, a package design website. They feature talented designers and you can find links to their work. A great place for graphic design  inspiration. /Annika
