December 2010

New Year is here and this is our last post for 2010. We are looking forward to a very creative 2011 (we do have a lot of ideas in mind) and to share this with you. We want to thank you again for all the beautiful feedback you have given us.
We are going to end this year with some pictures of our New Years table decoration. We have chosen a very natural and cozy look, with a bit of silver and glitter and materials like yarn, lace, fur and ribbons. We are going to have a couple of center pieces made from old baking molds. They are perfect for holding a candle and ornaments.
We wish you all a Happy New Year...see you soon!
Sussi & Annika

New Years is almost here and I bet you're all preparing for a great night. I think food is one of the most important things on New Years...I don't quite know why...but then again I always think food is important :) I have always loved to cook...and especially for family & friends. I get such pleasure, from watching the smile on someone's face while they get their taste buds satisfied.
Chocolate is almost always a winner and this year I have decided to make a rich and dark chocolate cake for dessert. The recipe is from Sweet Pauls Holiday Magazine on page 53. I made a test bake of it the other day where I used 70 % chocolate, so its quite a strong flavored cake, but it is a beautiful tasting cake. I'm going to serve it with sour creme and raspberries. This is probably one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever tasted. /Annika

Hope you all had a great Christmas with family and friends.
It's really white and cold here in Denmark this year. I was out walking today and the landscape is insanely beautiful, crisp and white. It looks like an endless white dreamworld, or as you would say in Swedish; ett sagoland (fairyland). I always get quite dreamy and imaginative when feeling inspired like this from the nature, almost walking around waiting for little snowy creatures to come out and tag along on my walk :)
We want to thank you for all your beautiful comments...
it's so great to hear from all of you .

We want to wish you all a merry Christmas. We'll be back soon, but for the next couple of days, we'll be enjoying the holidays with our families & friends. Happy Holidays to you all! Christmas wishes from Sussi & Annika.

I found this little piece of Christmas joy in my sister garden and it reminded me of why Christmas is such a beautiful time.
Mostly we recognize this season by decorating and adding sparkling colors and glitter to our homes, but there is something else going on as well. Something that might not be as obvious as all the decorating, but is by far the most important part. And that's the love we share, being with family and friends.
I think life is mostly going way to fast and those moments you get to love one another is often interrupted by life itself. But when the holidays come, we get the time to love and spoil each other crazy. We have the time to be more giving and loving towards one another. And we need it....this is how we get to sparkle too. /Annika

I'm a huge fan of food blogs and among my favorites is the blog 'What Katie Ate'. The other day she published a gorgeous online magazine that is a must read for Christmas. This almost 500 pages long magazine is filled with recipes, portraits of food artisans, inspiring photography, and great holiday cheer.
It's going to take some time getting through this magazine, but I promise it will be worth it. So get that pot of coffee going, get out your favorite chair and put up your feet :) Happy Reading! /Annika

I'm crazy about chocolate, but not just any chocolate. It has to be dark...really dark. Picking out a nice piece of chocolate can be as hard as choosing a good bottle of wine. The taste and flavours are rich and many and the choice is endless.
This homemade treat is my Christmas chocolate favorite and is quite easy to make. It's filled with a nougat caramel nut crisp and then covered with chocolate. Here's the recipe.  /Annika
This is also our Sunday pictures for Fabriken. What's a Sunday without a nice piece of chocolate :)

This recipe is one of my favorite cookie recipes. They are so easy to make and they make great Christmas cookies with their cinnamon flavour and crunchy, roasted nutty taste. Here is the recipe.
Pack the cookies in little bags and personalize it with cute labels and they make perfect hostess gifts.

present tags

If you need tags for your presents you can download these printable PDF's. There is one with blue and purple tags and one with a red and a mix page tags. The tags measure ca 56 x 98 mm.
The PDF's is A4 size and should be printed so to get the measurements mentioned above. Happy Friday! /Annika

holiday wrapping

Yesterday I was testing some new wrapping material. I used fabrics, paper, wallpaper and yarn. I love testing things like this not really knowing what the result might be. I had chosen a color range though, wanted it to be kind of natural looking with a splash of purple.
I also made some present tags which I'm going to post tomorrow. I'll include a PDF here so you can print them out. So please come back tomorrow and have a look. Now I'm off to do some Christmas treats. Hope to show you the pictures this weekend. Great Thursday everyone! /Annika
