knitted materials and wet boots

The entrance hall is often a cluttered space and especially in winter when we are wearing several layers of clothing and big boots to keep warm, it gets quite chaotic and messy. But I think there is a certain coziness to the soft, warm clothing and thick knitted materials one seem to have an extensive need for when it’s cold. And it does make up for the fact, that the entrance hall is probably the hardest maintainable area during this season.
Ha en fin tisdag. /Annika

note sheet flowers

Last project in the note sheet series is a gift box and a couple of paper flowers. These little paper flowers can be used when gift-wrapping or you might want to add a string and hang them in a tree or window. You'll find the instructions and template for the gift box and flower in this printable PDF.

Have a wonderful snowy Monday! /Annika

paper cones & pinecones

The second project in the note sheet series is actually two projects. One is a paper cone that you can use when giving away home baked treats or just want to have pretty packaging laying around.
The other project is a couple of Christmas ornaments shaped like pinecones, which is perfect for hanging in a tree or to decorate on a table. The instructions can be found in this printable PDF.
These little projects are also our Sunday contribution to Fabriken.
Ha en trevlig första advent! /Annika

decorating with note sheets

This post is the first in a series I'll be posting during the next couple of days about using note sheet paper for decorating and paper craft ideas.
In this project I will make a couple of little note sheet candles. You can find the directions to the project in this printable PDF.
Happy Friday Project! /Annika

mossy snowballs

It's snowing here in Skåne. I always feel like a kid when the first real snow starts to fall. Like waiting for a Christmas present. Getting so exited.
When my sister sent me these pictures this morning, it felt like Christmas Eve. I love how this decoration with the frame in the background almost feels like a painting on the wall. There is such a cozy winter look to these pictures, that you kind of feel like curling up in front of the decoration with a nice hot cup of cocoa for the rest of the day.
A snowy Thursday to you all! /Annika

moss tree

This is a fun little project. The tree with the pot is no more than 25 cm high and the moss ball is about 10 cm in diameter. You can of course make any size you want.
The stem of the tree is made from a branch that’s pressed into a piece of clay shaped to fit the pot and then cover the clay with mos. The moss ball that makes the shape of the tree is created from pressing moss together into a ball using thin wire to keep it in place. You make room for the top of the stem in the moss ball and glue or wire it together.
The three is now ready to be decorated with pinecones, Christmas balls and ribbon of your choice. Happy Project. /Sussi

adventspynt

This Tuesday's theme for fabriken was advent decoration which gave us an opportunity once again to be creative. I wanted to try out a more unconventional advent decoration and instead of the traditional wreath, I used a large tray, added four candles, filled it with moss, bark, pinecones and some Christmas glitter.
On one side of the tray I made room for a rustic pot with a Christmas rose.I like how the whole decoration feels like I just brought a piece of the garden inside.

Happy Tuesday! /Sussi

monday christmas colors

The fun thing about decorating for Christmas is that there are no rules. You can pick a new favorite color palette every year and try out new decorations. There are a lot of places where you can find your color inspiration. Foods are to me a great place to look and the season also invites new flavors into your home. I have a love for chocolate all year round, but when autumn and winter comes I find that it's especially irresistible. Cinnamon is a spice that I don't particularly like, but during Christmas season, its scent creates a very homey feel to me. All these smells are like color palettes to me.

This year I'm going with a mix of earthy chocolate and cool scandinavian blue/gray colors with a sprinkle of red. What are your Christmas colors this year? /Annika

furry wreath 'how to'

Since we have put a few wreaths on the site this week, we wanted to explain how they are made. This wreath is made out of fur, bark, pinecones, moss, Christmas balls and ribbon in a beautiful mix. It is easily put together with a glue gun, where all the pieces are being glued on a straw wreath.

You start by gluing all the main-materials on the straw wreath (fur, bark and ribbon). The peaces doesn´t have to be exactly square, it will make the end result more exciting. Now you have to fill in the "holes" with moss, pinecones and Christmas balls to finish the project.

This was one of my favorite projects, because the choice of materials was so different. It will make a wonderful peace on the wall for Christmas.
If you´ve got any question, feel free to leave a message.

Happy project. /Sussi

This is our Sunday picture for fabriken.

happy friday!

I thought I wanted to start your weekend of by posting this picture of this gorgeous wreath my sister made this week. It has such a natural and earthy feeling to it that you just feel like hugging it.
This would go perfect on your wall if you like the white country style. I would even bring in that branch. They seem to be the perfect match.
My sister's work with flowers is a great inspiration to me. And that feels good, being inspired.

I hope you'll all feel inspired this weekend. Happy friday! /Annika

Later we'll post some 'how to's on the wreaths.
